This is nothing like their older songs, this is crap!
Even if it's not the same as their old stuff, that doesn't make it crap. What it does have in common with Imai's older work is that it's kind of bouncy and chearfull, you know? I'll be the first to admit I do miss his earlier style of guitar playing and hope that he'll revisit it.
I finaly got to hear the album, and at first I was thrown off a bit... almost didn't like it... but once I listened to it a couple times I got used to the diferent sound and was able to realy apreciate the music. In fact the songs that threw me the worst at first are quickly becomeing favorites. I think it's a great album.
I definetly don't think this is a 'comercial' album... Imai realy pushes the limits of what most people could find palatable in some of these songs. The mad genius as always. I think I was right on the mark about their singles simply being the 'most markateable' songs on the album. They realy cut loose and had fun with this album, that is certain. The energy level of the songs is something I haven't heard from them since their first two albums.
Look, it's not their best work, but they been at it for over 20 years. That's pretty good for band life standards. Also, it took them this long to finally do NOT so fabulous songs. I don't know, Atsushi is getting silly from his solo work. He's a cat loving drunkard and I will always love these guys forever.
Angel Revolver review: The first Song sounds like a church choir. Rendezvous is the best song on the album, which isn't saying much. Montage, and lily, are bad. La vie en Rose, is obviously paying respect to the band D'erlanger. Cream Soda, rain, beast, and forever kingdom, are total rubbish, snow white is an average melody. Spider is the worst song on the album. Alice feels like it doesn't belong here. While Revolver is more choir music, only with a fast beat.
Today I listened to their new album. I hate it, this album is rubbish, it is obvious they are trying to fit into neo-visual-kei. No one but Visual-kei fans will buy this album. You can preview the album at tower records. I'm shocked that Sakurai would sing this rubbish, especially after working with Wayne Hussey. Buck-Tick fans weep, for this is the end.
You should go to Japan, and it does matter when you are not selling!! When I was at summer sonic, most of the audience left to see other bands! No people did not get bored of listening to their older songs, thats why Victor has reprinted the entire BT collection! While BMG focus on trying to do whatever it is they want to do with BT!
Is there anything wrong with them being dumped before? The music industry changed every day. Fans couldn't keep up with their older taste and go for the newer and younger boy bands. As far as I can see, fans like them are not worthy to be called a fan at all! It's true that they have different theme for every album but they're still staying true to their lyrics and music. I'm actually happy to see this band isn't trying to make any commercial music.
Fans who don't want the band to change are just spoilt children who should go back to listening to shit bands like Ellegarden. B-T is one of those rare bands who refuse to be pigeon-holed.
They've reached the end? That's ridiculous. They're always changing their styles. In a way, they're more fresh and relevant than most bands that burn out as "The Next Big Thing." They're not the top of the charts, they're just themselves. And that still makes them excellent. If you're not into the darker genre they dipped into with 13kai, fine. But they haven't been weak, to say the least.
You are completely right. its what people in Japan are thinking too. BT has come to an end, but in a bad way. at least Soft Ballet is still respected by their fans.
You speak for all the people in Japan? I suspect you are confusing popularity and respect. A band can be respected and loose popularity... Pearl Jam, forinstance. It doesn't mean that it's an end. It's only an end to the real fans having to put up with obnoxious trendies.
The evidence? thats in Japan, and with all the fans that have broken up. It clear you have not known about BT for long, since if you had (and had been to Japan) you would know!
I already told you I can't help that I wasn't born in Japan. Evidence...you know, like magazine articles, reviews, etc. Give me a reason to beleave their whole fanbase is leaving them. That's a pretty big deal, so it shouldn't be hard to find presentable evidence of. *rolls eyes* Furthermore, present me evidence that they are marketing to teenagers... they look like old men in their photoshoots. They aren't trying to look like boy toys. They are about the music.
You would need to know Japanese, and speak with Japanese fans about it! They had a period of inactivity, that was because their record label dropped them! When they came back, it was under BMG with a completely different sound. Moreover BMG is marketing their songs to teenage girls, and also to young anime fans!
Quick to abadon? This all started about 6 years ago! I heard there was a new BT single when I was in Japan last month. I had to check it out! Change is not a problem. A good example is Soft Ballet, their sound changed, but they still sounded like Soft Ballet, and kept the respect of their fans!
Like I stated just before (and with soft ballet) they changed over the years, but did not insult fans. They still had that "Buck-Tickness" with those albums. Around 2000, someone either from the band or the record label, decided it was time to make commercial pop songs, dropping the sex, insanity, and political statements. Their punky attitude died.
why would it be sad for the older fans if their music reaches new audiences? And wasn't an older song, Dress, used in an anime? I don't see why that's a bad thing as long as they still make great music. Don't you think you should give them a chance instead of acusing them of selling out?
If you listen to an older album, it is different to Mona Lisa, but it still has BT's sound (and lyric style) it reached out to the industrial audience, but did not insult BT fans. I don't want to see BT disband. If they can join that group of people, good. However, me and from the looks of it, many other original fishtankers, won't be supporting them.
Buck-Tick has lost their fanbase, their record label dumped them. BMG picked them up, and its seems they are getting BT to make songs like this. Trying to find a new audience in teenage girls. Sakurai kept many of their older fans to his name alone by releasing his solo work though Victor, any BT would be ashamed of this song and what they have done in the last few years.
have you even been to a Buck-Tick concert? do you buy their music, or do you download it off the internet or buy bootlegs? I'm speaking about every BT fan who has listened to their music for over 10 years, gone to their concerts and bought their albums! The BT fanbase (fishtank) has all but broken up. BT has lost almost all of its respect from its fans! If you try and say otherwise, you have never been to Japan!
Sadly, as other people have said (especially most Japanese fans) BT is dead.

06.10.2007 в 22:49ну меня в данном случае беспокоит не то, что пипл ин Джапан думает и в каких количествах старожилы сваливают (бо лично мне музыка как нравилась, так и продолжает), а обстоятельства ухода из Меркьюри и является ли сейчас происходящее следствием тех событий (если уж товарищи сослались на какие-то якобы слухофакты, что старый лейбл их "ушёл" из-за оттока фанов=снижения продаж? по SSL судили? ага, это не Космос и не 6/9%) и пр.; с равным успехом это может быть креатив детей-виртуалов). т.е. материальное положение меня беспокоит. не хочется, чтобы денежный вопрос отражался на творчестве.
про панков улыбнуло, кстати. дикие бактики))
про СБ - они в более узких рамках играли, и за них не выходили и при "втором созыве" имо, хотя разнообразие синт-электро-и т.п. присутствует. не думаю, что фаны сохранили бы респект, если бы СБ полностью ушли в макивский индастриал, например, или наоборот - в кеновский электропоп, ну или втроём на балалайках стали бы бренчать%)
